WHO IS DENNIS DEWEY?
Dennis Dewey is internationally acclaimed as a master biblical storyteller. An
ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA), he has performed and
taught at hundreds of venues all over the world. He has been featured at the National Storytelling
Festival, Princeton Theological Seminary's Institute of Theology, the
Joseph Campbell Festival, Oxford University and on national television. Dennis has also served as Executive Director of the Network of Biblical Storytellers.
After fourteen years full time at this ecumenical, itinerant storytelling ministry, Dennis Dewey was called to be the Designated Pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church in Clinton, New York in March 2007. Stone church understands part of its mission as continuing to make Dennis available to share his gifts with the larger church.
If you are interested in engaging Dennis, it will be best to plan months in advance. He also expects to continue to offer one or more storytelling trips each year to Greece, to the Holy Land or other sacred story sites. In May 2008 he led "The Stories of the Journeys of Paul" to Greece and the Greek Islands. The next trips will be to the Holy Land, “The Stories of Jesus and His Ancestors,” January 25 - February 3, 2010 and "Celtic Spirit, Reformed Heritage" to Scotland/England April 13-22, 2010 with an optional London extension. He is also planning a "Stories of St. James the Fisherman" trip to Spain in the spring of 2011 as well as another "Stories of the Journeys of Paul" trip to Greece. If you have an interest in one of these this trips or would like to have Dennis lead a different storytelling pilgrimage for your church, please contact him at DenDew@aol.com or 315-797-1163.
Dennis is grateful for all those who have supported this ministry over the years. He says, "I have been blessed to make friends all over the United States and Canada and from Sydney to Cape Town to London. I hope that this ministry has helped change the way the scriptures are heard, and I intend to keep at it as long as I have breath to tell the story!"
