WHO IS DENNIS DEWEY?
Dennis Dewey is internationally acclaimed as a master biblical storyteller. An
ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA), he has performed and
taught at hundreds of venues all over the world.
He has been featured at the National Storytelling
Festival, Princeton Theological Seminary's Institute of Theology, the
Joseph Campbell Festival, Oxford University and on national television. Dennis
has also served as Executive Director of the
Network of Biblical Storytellers.
After fourteen years full time at this ecumenical, itinerant storytelling ministry, Dennis Dewey returned to parish ministry in 2007 as Pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church in Clinton, New York, where he helped form a congregation-based troupe of biblical storytellers who tell the lectionary texts by heart each week in worship
Now that he is about to retire from the parish, Dennis continues gladly to accept invitations to perform and lead workshops and retreats. He also continues to offer
storytelling travel opportunities to the Holy Land ("Stories of Jesus and His Ancestors"), Greece ("Stories of the Journeys of Paul") and Scotland/England ("Stories of the Celtic Saints"). He continues to help churches in planning and leading educational/pilgrimage travel experiences. If you have an interest in such a possibility, please contact him at DenDew@aol.com or 315-797-1163.
Dennis Dewey’s mission is to help people hear the biblical stories "again for the first time." He says, " I intend to keep at it as long as I have breath to tell the story!"
